Celebrating the Glorious 24th Anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's Accession to the Throne

New Delhi, July 31, 2023 - The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in India organized a grand reception to celebrate the 24th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's accession to the Glorious Throne of His Ancestors, an occasion of immense significance for the Moroccan people. The prestigious Leela Palace in New Delhi, where His Majesty had stayed in 2015, served as the venue for this memorable event.

The celebration brought together over 250 distinguished guests, including the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Vellamvelly Muraleedharan, who graciously represented the Indian government. His presence showcased the importance accorded by India to bilateral relations with Morocco.

During the event, HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to India Maliki delivered a speech that highlighted the profound significance of this celebration for the entire Moroccan nation, emphasizing the unwavering attachment of the people to the Alaouite Throne. He evoked the multi-century heritage that binds the King and the nation, establishing a sacred and unique relationship steeped in the glorious history of the Kingdom.

He also underscored the excellent bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of India, emphasizing the positive impact of His Majesty King Mohammed VI's historic visit to India in 2015. That landmark visit opened new avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two countries, creating unprecedented momentum for bilateral relations.

In his eloquent speech, Mr. Muraleedharan advocated for the excellence of the friendly and cooperative ties between Morocco and India. He emphasized the strategic value of the partnership and highlighted the numerous opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation in key areas such as health and defense.

An exhibition of photographs traced the history of the close and warm relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of India since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
